Individuals interested in becoming members should:
- Obtain an Application Form using the links below.
- Attend a few SPEARHEAD meetings or events where you can get to know a few members. You will need to provide the names an membership numbers of two existing members for a Full membership, and one for an Affiliate membership.
When you’re ready to apply, return the completed form and payment using the instructions on the form. The Membership Committee will then will contact your sponsor(s), interview you, and make a recommendation to the Board of Directors.
If you are accepted, you will receive a lapel pin and shoulder patch. Leather back patches are available to buy. Should you leave the affiliation later, you should no longer wear SPEARHEAD insignia.

SPEARHEAD OFFERS 2 TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP
AFFILIATE MEMBERS ARE:
- Unable to vote on motions or for elections;
- Not eligible to serve on the Board of Directors;
- Not eligible to serve on standing or special committees;
- Not recognized for years of service;
- Not eligible to purchase a SPEARHEAD back patch.
If an Affiliate Member wants to switch to a Full Membership AND they live within the province of Ontario they will need to pay the New Applicant Full Membership Fee. No interview will be required.
FULL MEMBERS ARE:
- Eligible to vote at meetings;
- Able to stand for election on the Board of Directors;
- Eligible to serve on standing or special committees;
- Able to purchase a SPEARHEAD back patch;
- resident in the province of Ontario (excluding Members prior to 2015).
